TIPS FOR BILBAO
The official language of the Conference will be English. The Basque Country has two official languages: Spanish and Basque (called Euskara). Signs on roads, in the airport, official institutions and on streets will be in both languages.
In many streets you will be able to access Internet through the City Hall public system [Bilbao Wi-Fi].
SAFETY AND SECURITY
The phone number for all kinds of emergencies, such as urgent medical care, ambulances, police and firefighters is 112. Please, remember to confirm before departing abroad that your insurance policy covers you in Europe.
Spanish electrical plugs are European type F (220 Volt, 50Hz). You should consider what type of adaptor you need if you are taking electrical items. Modern computers and other appliances accept both 220 V and 110 V but check your electrical requirements.
The euro is Spain’s currency.
